My 10 year old grandson was just in the ER. With increasing and pain around naval area. Fever a couple days ago 100.7 in er. Thought for sure. Appendicitis. Ultrasound inconclusive. They diagnosed mesenteric. Vasculitis. I was relieved that he doesn t need surgery. I guess my question is : Where did that diagnosis come from? Can you explain? YYYY@YYYY
appendicitis has similar pain to mesenteric adenitis/vasculitis.... which are not seen on ultrasound examination properly... to confirm the diagnosis it need more examination like CT scan or diagnostic laparoscopy... but considering the diagnosis related to age it's most common and empirical treatment is sufficient for treatment...
so diagnosis come from negative USG report with similar pain of appendicitis...
